Flora
The mountainous forest of Parnassos has to demonstrates impressive flowers, like:
Iris Attica ([krinaki]) is a plant with roots and short shoot. The flowers are presented from open yellow up to deep lila. We will find the Iris Attica in stoned places from March until May.
Hypericum Rumeliacum ia a balsam is that reaches in height 40 centimeters. Its petal- flowers have colour yellow. We find it in stoned places within the mountain.
Lilium chalcedonicum shows the most beautiful shades of red in the turk/s cap-group, scattered, narrowly lanceolate, lower ones horizontal, upper ones becoming shorter and appressed to the stem, overlapping like roofing tiles.Flowering time July-August
Paeonia Parnassica belongs to a family of various garden plants of the genus Paeonia, having large, variously colored flowers with numerous stamens and several pistils.
Daphne Oleoides: An evergreen Shrub growing to 1m. It is in leaf all year, in flower from May to June. The flowers are hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and are pollinated by Bees, flies, Lepidoptera (Moths & Butterflies). The plant prefers medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils and requires well-drained soil. The plant prefers acid and neutral soils. It cannot grow in the shade. All parts of the plant are poisonous. Skin contact with the sap can cause dermatitis in some people.

Flauna
Mt Parnassos includes subalpine pastures, bare rocks and impressive Greek fir (Abies cephalonica). The main human activities are cattle raising, hunting, recreation and mining. The increasing human disturbance (skiing and building), hunting and the superficial bauxite extraction, affect the area greatly.
An especially important area for birds of prey, woodpeckers and alpine birds. Breeding species include the Lammergeir Gypaetus barbatus (1 pair), the Griffon Vulture Gyps fulvus (6-10 pairs), the Egyptian Vulture Neophron percnopterus, the Short-toed Eagle Circaetus gallicus (1-3 pairs), the Golden Eagle Aquila chrysaetos (2+ pairs), the Booted Eagle Hieraaetus pennatus, the Rock Partridge Alectoris graeca, the Black Woodpecker Dryocopus martius, the Medium Spotted Woodpecker Dendrocopos medius, the White-backed Woodpecker Dendrocopos leucotos, the Ruppell's Warbler Sylvia rueppelli, the Lesser Grey Shrike Lanius minor and the Chough Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax.
